My name is Christina and this is what started out to be my dog/horse blog named after my dog Lexi. Slowly my blog has morphed into a dog/life/farm blog. I love to take photos of everything relating to the farm and local events. I am also a Design Junkie and love to take my old run down ranch and redesign every inch into my dream retreat. Join Lexi, myself and all the delightful creatures at Bluebird Farm and have a peek inside our wonderful world... "The World According To Lexi"

In Memory of our Sweet Dakota
Our sweet Dakota passed away two days after this photo was taken with my Mommy. Her Cancer had moved to her heart and they gave her a few days to live. She spent her last 5 days doing whatever she wanted which was mostly hanging out on the porch and eating lots of treats. She got to go on one walk but had a hard time near the end....her heart couldn't keep up. On Monday November 2 she went down hill fast and my Mommy and Daddy took her to Hanging Rock Animal Hospital. They have a special family room and all the girls at Hanging Rock got to say good by to Dakota (they all adored her). Afterwards my Mom and Dad brought her home and buried her next to Matisse. She will watch over Bluebird Farm until we are all together again at Rainbow Bridge. We love and miss you Dakota...things just aren't the same around here without you.
Dakota was 11 years old....

Dogtoberfest 2009
Well my mommy was at Dogtoberfest with my little sister Tallulah and it was a perfect day. Here are some of the photos she took of some of my friends at Dogtoberfest. I wish I could have gone but it was Tallulah's first dog festival and she needed my daddy's undivided attention. I heard that she was really nervous when she got there but after a time she relaxed and enjoyed the other pups.
Enjoy my mommy's photography!

Dogtoberfest is less then 4 weeks away!
Dogtoberfest is just a few weeks away....we had a great time there with my daddy while my mommy worked last year....there were dogs of every breed, fun games, doggie talent contests (Americanine Idol), crafts (Pawcaso) and really cool agility games. Not to mention great food, friends and all kinds of venders. All proceeds go to my friends at St Francis Service Dogs. Mark your calendars for Oct 3, from 10A-4P at the Saint Francis Service Dog Training Grounds right behind Gander Mountain (rain date Oct 4).
Fun ...Fun...Fun! Finally a fundraiser that is fun for the dogs and 100% of the profit goes to St. Francis Service Dogs....oh did I mention it is FREE!!!
See you there!
XOXOX

Our Dakota - Healing
Dakota had to have emergency surgery on her spleen. She had a huge tumor and it ruptured her spleen and she was bleeding out in her belly...thank god my mommy googled "bloated belly" and then daddy rushed her to the emergency hospital and saved her life....her metal staples come out tomorrow and she won't have to be on a leash all the time anymore....we are blessed and very happy she is still alive....I love Dakota! XOXO =) Lexi
