From Warm And Beautiful To Cold And Wet

I love watching my birds chow down at the bird feeder. Here is a little Downy Woodpecker. Isn't he adorable? I am actaully filling up my feeders once a day and I have three big feeders. Not only are the horses eating us out of house and home, but you can add the birds to that list as well (double click on each photo to enlarge).

Lexi and I drove into town the other day and I took these photos just two days ago. The fall leaves where in full swing. We stopped to get a Venti Mocha and this is what the trees looked like right outside of Starbucks. The colors were amazing! Unfortunately the leaves are all gone now. It's like it was warm and colorful one day and then BAM...winter had arrived. It was cold and rainy all day yesterday.

Below is a photo of the sun coming up this morning after the big rain storm. It was an absolutely beautiful sunrise but check out the trees in this photo. The leaves are all gone. Fall has arrived but it feels more like winter. I guess it's just as well with Thanksgiving being only a week off. I am already noticing the Christmas lights and reindeers in the front yards of many of the local farms. I guess it is time to think about wrapping presents, shipping and of course sending out Christmas cards. I think I will do like 10 cards a day for 10 days...I wonder if I can stick to a 10 day Christmas card schedule. How about you, are you ready for the Holidays?
