Since 2011 was a huge year for us here at Bluebird Farm, I thought I would put together some photo collages of some of our favorite times this past year. It was a life changing year for all of us here on the farm. My 27 year old mare made it through a bad health scare and we launched a new website called Deaf Dogs Rock which lists and helps deaf dogs find new homes throughout the U. S. Who knew adopting and training a deaf dog would be so life changing? I hope you enjoy our Best of 2011 photo journey. Lexi and I also want to thank all of you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to pop by and see all the wonderful creatures here at Bluebird Farm. According to my dog Lexi and my deaf dog Nitro, you all totally ROCK!
Happy New Year! Love ya...mean it!

Nitro sure enjoyed all the daily walks we did this Spring and Summer on Bluebird.

I went up to Northern Virginia to spend some quality time with my BFF Teri, photograph her daughter and take photos of her riding students in one of the Summer 2011 Fun Horse Shows.

This is "Flat Nitro". We learned to make My Flat Pet at the BlogPaws Conference 2011. This way I can take Flat Nitro with me and photograph him where ever I go!
This was the Grand Opening of the Salem Rotary Dog Park here in Salem VA in October 2011. This is by far Nitro's favorite place in the world to go. We take him there everyday so he can play with all his buddies!
Nitro and I on a walk here on Bluebird Farm. It was a colorful amazing Fall in 2011. The photo on the lower left hand corner made it into a Deaf Dog PSA double page spread in the American Dog Magazine Winter edition. Click here to see The American Dog Magazine Deaf Dog PSA spread.
This fall I flew home to South Dakota for an old fashioned South Dakota Ranch Wedding for my niece Lisa and her new husband Brian. It was so much fun catching up with the family. The second photo on on the bottom left is a photo of me and all my sisters at Lisa and Brain's wedding. Sugar is the horse the bride rode in on instead of the traditional wedding march.
Every year I go to the New River Valley Fair in Dublin Virginia to photograph a good old fashioned livestock fair for their website. It brings me back to the days when I was a child and competed at our local fair with our 4-H Countryside Cavalry Team.
The horse shows started wrapping up in the late Fall of 2011 at Green Hill Park Equestrian Center. Here are some photos I took (I have another website www.horseva.com) of one of the last Fall Horse Shows of the season here in Salem VA.
This is Ellie. She is a white deaf boxer puppy that was up for adoption at the City of Salem Animal Shelter. Before she found a home, Nitro and I would stop by and play with her. We ended up listing her (aka Anola) on our website www.deafdogsrock.com and making a video of her as well. She was adopted by a wonderful family and now I am working with them at least once a week on training tips at Ellie's new home. Ellie is such a smart girl!
Here is the video we put together of Ellie (aka. Anola) and Nitro playing together at the shelter.
Lexi and I hope you enjoyed our Best of 2011.
May the stars shine ever so brightly on you and your furry loved ones in the coming year. Hugs and kisses from the World According To Lexi. Happy New Year!
