This morning I was in my office, checking my emails, and sipping on a cup of Joe when I heard Nitro outside on the back deck freaking out and barking like a crazy dog. I figured he was just bugging my other dog Bailey this morning because they get up every morning and wrestle. I thought they were playing at first but then I saw Bailey casually walk by my office window and I could hear Nitro still freaking out, so I decided to grab my camera and head outside. Here is what happened next.
Do you see anything unusual in this photo?
A big beautiful moth with a torn wing...
Nitro is such a chicken when it comes to bugs (so is Tallulah for that matter)...
Nitro: I'm bigger then you and you better leave my back yard!
Then he looks at me like "mommy aren't you going to get him for me?"....
Nitro: Oh crap the critter moves!
Stalking position....
2nd warning....
Nitro getting into stalking position again....
Such a big chicken....
Nitro showing a little bravery....On the next few shots this is what I imagine Nitro was saying in dog talk...
Nitro: Now what should I do?
Nitro: Hmm...no dog smells here....
Nitro: Okay, this is it....I'm warning you! You better leave right now!
Nitro: Okay this is not working for the brother...now what?
Nitro: Hmmm....maybe this little critter isn't so bad after all....
Nitro: Oh crap! The critter is flapping his wings!
Nitro: Don't you flap those wings at me!
Nitro: I'm bigger and tougher then you plus my mommy is standing right here and she will protect me!
Nitro: Since mommy is so relaxed maybe this little critter isn't so bad after all.
Puppies are so entertaining at nine months. Shortly after I shot these photos, my husband Chris came up from the barn to see what all the ruckus was about and I had him move the moth so I could get back to work.
My name is Christina and this is what started out to be my dog/horse blog named after my dog Lexi. Slowly my blog has morphed into a dog/life/farm blog. I love to take photos of everything relating to the farm and local events. I am also a Design Junkie and love to take my old run down ranch and redesign every inch into my dream retreat. Join Lexi, myself and all the delightful creatures at Bluebird Farm and have a peek inside our wonderful world... "The World According To Lexi"
This is so darn cute...it always amazes me when a young child or pet encounters something NEW...You really caught the joy and cuteness of Nitro discovering nature at its finest!!! LOVE THIS!!!!!!!

Amazing sequence! Nitro I think this post needs to be "Terrified Tuesday" ;) Glad to see you made friends in the end - he was a rather attractive butterfly.
ReplyDeleteBAH!! How funny! That sequence was cracking me up - that sounded just like Nyxie and her tough girl front ;)
