It has been a very mild Winter here in Virginia. Not only has it been in the 50's and 60's everyday since October but here in Virginia we have not had any snow in the Winter of 2011-2012. Not even one flurry this Winter that is until this past weekend. We got 6"-8" of snow here in Salem Virginia. I got up early to shoot some photos here around Bluebird Farm before the wind started blowing and taking all the snow off the trees.
Later in the morning we took Nitro to the Salem Rotary Dog Park to play with his Husky friend Neeko in the snow. Neeko loves the snow. He kept making Husky Snow Angles everywhere. Here are some photos from our first big snow in Virginia last weekend. I hope you all had a great weekend last weekend because we sure did! Enjoy! Lexi, Nitro, Bailey, Tallulah, Chris and Christina
Our first Winter storm on Bluebird Farm in 2012.
Check out the contrast of our neighbor's horses against the white snow covered trees and back drop.
I just love how their pretty bright winter coat colors pop against the white snow.
Time for the neighbor horses to take a morning nap in the sunshine and wait for breakfast to be served.
The sun is just rising over the mountain.
I love this shot because the sun was just peeking over the mountain and started to make the woods glow from the virgin snow and sunlight.
Lots of texture photos..I love the texture in this shot.
Our long frozen driveway here at Bluebird Farm.
My neighbor's gates across the road.
Our front pasture was a beautiful Winter wonderland!
Even the blue sky appeared to be a darker blue against all the white snow capped trees and mountains.
The little duck pond up the road. I was expecting to see the ducks out there swimming around but they were somewhere else keeping warm.
RutttRooooowwww! Nitro: "I think I am stuck!"
Is it just me or is he just so darn handsome!?
Gesundheit Nitro (which means "good health to you" in German).
Nitro is "getting his daddy" in this shot!
He sure is a bouncy boy!
Oh my....
Here is a video on the two dogs playing. It is less then a 2 minute video. Enjoy!
Neeko has arrived at the dog park!
Nitro is so excited when he spots Neeko that he starts running in circles at breakneck speed!
Nitro is very excited to see his friend Neeko!
What a handsome Husky boy!
WhaaaHooo..time to Rock and Roll!
Neeko looks like a wolf...
Nitro looks a little cold in this shot...
Neeko every once in awhile he just stops and closes his eyes and just soaks up the vision of white snow and sunshine.
Neeko seems to look at Nitro as his Prey animal...
See what I mean....yummy, dog McNugget!
Nitro is like, you can't catch me...I'm so fast now that I am in shape...just watch and take notes dude...
Later Gator!
Nitro: "Dude, what in the heck did you have for breakfast...your breath smells like doggy do do..just saying"
Time out...
Isn't Neeko just stunning?
When they start pooping out they are like the UFC fighters who start leaning on each other to catch their breath...
Nitro loves the tube..
Nitro is checking out the big tube...
Nitro, Lexi, Bailey, Tallulah, Chris and I hope you enjoy what's left of Winter! xoxoxxo

Thank you Benny and Lily. It was our first and last snow (I hope) of the winter season. I love when it snows one day and it is gone by the next day. We made it to 72 just two days later. Thanks so much for stopping by!
DeleteWhat gorgeous snow pictures! There's nothing like that first blush of snow before it starts to melt. And Nitro is having a blast with Neeko! Fun!!
ReplyDeleteWe sure wish Sage was here in town to play in the snow with Nitro. From what I can tell Sage loves water so the snow would be even more fun! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI am so in love with Nitro. :swoon:
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing pictures and the dogs look to be having a fabulous blast!
I'm still not exactly sure why Virginia has snow and Massachusetts doesn't but I think I'm just going to chalk it up to "craziest winter ever". :)
This was our first snow of the year and probably our last. It was 72 degrees by Wednesday (these photos were taken Sunday and Monday). Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait for SPRING!
