Here on Bluebird Farm we are all so excited that Spring is finally here in Virginia but along with Spring showers comes muddy little piglet ponies! They're not actually piglet ponies they are horses after all. We don't have any little piglets here on Bluebird Farm but who needs little piglets anyway when you have horses that just love to roll in fresh mud puddles. After the horses finally dried off, I got the pleasure of brushing them. You should have seen the huge cloud of dust I had to stand in to get them all cleaned up. Life on a farm is a dirty job and I guess someone has to do he cleaning up around here. Let's hope they can stay out of the mud for a little while.
The Muddy Horses of Bluebird Farm
Here was my 30 year old mare Reiny after the Spring showers the other day. She wasn't as bad as Montana was and every extra day I get to brush her is a gift from God so I will never ever complain about her rolling in the mud. I am just so glad she can still roll in the mud and actually get back up afterwards. She is my retired Champion Barrel Racer. She is by far the most fabulous horse a girl could ever ask for in life.
She has the biggest heart in the Universe!
Enjoying an early Sunrise with the dogs.
With the warm temps in the 70's and 80's all through March, our pastures and lawns are exploding with beautiful long green grass. We have never had to mow in March before. Check out these photos from Wednesday morning while Chris my husband was hanging out with our four dogs in the front yard. Everything is so green!
Look at Nitro giving his daddy some morning loving. So sweet.
Another afternoon at the City of Salem Rotary Dog Park
This is Armani the Great Dane. He is just a big old sweet ham!
Nitro hasn't seen Armani in a few months and he used to play and rough house with him but for some reason he just wasn't sure about him this time.
I think this dog's name is Goober. He is the coolest Pit Bull. I just love his personality.
Here is Goober playing in the big cement tube with Mendelson the other Pitty boy. They are both such fun dogs.
"What's up?" "I smell bacon, bacon, bacon."
Nitro finally found a fun little spaniel mix to play and chase at the park. Look at his happy little face!
He has such a funny expression on his face in this shot. He is having so much fun with this pup.
Such a handsome boy!
According to my dogs Lexi, Nitro, Bailey and Tallulah, they hope you get your dogs out and about this weekend and have some fun. Happy Tails!
